It is the day after one of the most monumental elections in history and it is certainly noted and celebrated in our household. Moreover, we continue, as usual, in Babyland within the framework of the greater picture. The following is a light hearted reflection on what has been a year in the running of our parental race.
It's been our observation that babies can make a toy out of just about anything. Their imaginations turn ordinary, sometimes, unsavory items into what seem to be key elements in their cool make-believe worlds. As many of you know, retrieving an item once a babe is smitten with it can prove difficult. In such cases, prepare for major upset. I actually wonder if there isn't some axiom where the more yukie and dangerous something is, the more a child will love it and therefore, the harder it will be to take it away. We think Eden is developing some sort of exchange policy and we aren't quite sure yet of the terms. One day she'll be able to voice her preferred exchange rate or explain her economics but for now, we can only guess. We are not experts, by any means but from what we have found....a Kazoo is as good as gold and can be traded for just about anything.

Erin,
As always, your grace & wisdom have brought me to tears & enlightenment. I was previously unaware of this delightful blog (likely via my ADD + fast paced life, rather than an oversight). I am sitting here at my desk with tears streaming down my face, as I scroll through the photos of your life & read your well written, heartful, and passionate words. Thank you for sharing these precious moments with me & with the world. You are glorious my friend. I can't wait to come visit...soon hopefully!!
All my best, ~Beckie
