There is some magic, miracle, or mirage at play when four baby mommas can be seen running together along a misty lake shore laughing and frolicing as though there were not a care in the world. "Hey I know those ladies," some might say...but where are their babes? Don't they have babies? Safe and cozy, those little ones were playing at a nearby play ground with their papas. What happy circumstance we found last Sunday morning as Kay, Kristin, Leesa, and I participated in the Pineapple Classic, a fundraising run for people with Lukemia and other blood cancers. We were energized by the presence of 3000 other runners, the hula and other musical entertainments, the fact that our husbands loved and supported us and of course our little bundles themselves. Some of the participants wore pictures of loved ones with blood cancers for whom they dedicated the day...this hit home for all. Our friend Leesa, had some such friends for whom she was running the race. The mommas and I took nothing for granted. We bounded over army training-like obstacles which may have rivaled any crossfit course around. It included 5 ft, 10 ft, and 14 ft walls to clamour over; rows of tires, and tubes to crawl through. It was rad.
